I going to a mac powerbook pro due to my job as a film editer, I'm use to using dvd shrink and dvdfab nero etc. Can anyone recommend some software to back up my dvds for a mac. I'd really hate to keep a extra laptop just to backup my dvds. Any help is appreciated.

    MacTheRipper to rip.

    DVD2oneX2 to compress.

    Toast to burn.

DVD2oneX2 (40 Euro or 57 US dollars) is excellent and fast for compressing your video files but Toast will do the same thing. Popcorn 3 (watered down version of Toast Titanium) is $50.

If you buy Toast Titanium or Popcorn you will have no reason to buy DVD2oneX2. I use Toast.

Many argue that DVD2oneX2 offers higher-quality compression than Toast. Additionaly, should your rip contain errors, processing the rip with DVD2oneX2 may yield a burnable rip.
