Any suggestions on a player where I can rip all my DVD's and put on a hard drive and it have output to a TV. Something affordable as well. Configuation suggestions would be nice. thanks Ronnie Operations Engineer Remote Backup Solutions
Why would you want to do that? At roughly 4.5GB a DVD, just 200 movies would take up 900GB of space. It would be a lot cheaper just to put the disc in the player when you wanted to view it. Confusius say: "physical storage of discs lot easier than digital storage on HDD."
I'd only like to do this as HD space is cheap these days and I was looking for a piece of software that could tie in a rack mounted server with video output. 200 movies is more than I have and I have 4 kids and they get scratched so 1TB of disk space is a 4-500 bucks. What players can handle 200 discs? any suggestions? thanks Ronnie Remote Backup Solutions
The movies add up fast. I would need a 4,050 GB HDD; over 900 movies. I don't know of any players that can handle 200.
