Hey there. I have converted my AVI's to MPEG. I am trying to burn my MPEG files with Nero 6 Ultra Edition. Nero isn't recongizing my .mpg files when I try to create a "Make DVD-Video". When I try to add my MPEG to the "VIDEO_TS" folder, it won't recongize mpg format. Do I have to use Shrink to convert my files into a format that Nero will recongize?
By the way, I have DVD Decrypter, can I use that to burn as well? Okay, I just tried DVD Shrink and it won't accept my MPEG files either. I am not sure what is wrong. I converted the movies with MainConcept MPEG Encoder...
If you do need to convert your AVIs to Mpeg then NeroVideo Express will accept the AVIs and burn them to DVD.
well I thought that you had to convert your AVI's to MPEG format so they can be burned later to a DVD+R disc. so you're telling me I never needed to convert them in the first place? There has to be something that will burn MPEG formated movies.
NeroVideo Express will accept AVI files or Mpegs. Wether or not you use Nero to convert your AVIs is down to personal choice. I have been advised by some of the more expierenced guys in these forums that for the best results use TMPGEnc to convert AVI to Mpeg for much better quality.
I tried TMPGEnc but had problems. MainConcept Encoder is just as good. regardless of how i converted them, i have my movies converted to MPEG. I just want to know how to burn it to disc.
Nero is just a burning program, not a DVD authoring prog. What you need is a good DVD authoring program, like TMPGEnc DVD Author. With this program you can authorize mpeg files to the files, which you can add to VIDEO_TS folder when burning DVD with Nero.
i know that nero is a program for burning. but my point is that i was told to convert my avi's to mpeg so it can then be burned later. now i have to "author" the movies inorder to burn them.
To burn your mpegs to dvd - Run Video Express Choose Make DVD Choose Add Video Files and point to your mpegs. Thats it - you do not need to any authoring or any fancy menus or graphics.
eddieb - You probably mean a NeroVision Express. I tried it several times, but it kept crashing, wasting my time, slow.. so I uninstalled it. I found "TMPGenc Plus" and "TMPGenc DVD Author" works right the first time.
