DVD burn failed

    DVD Shrink reads the DVD, files are on the hard drive but then I get the message that the burn has failed. Havetried a number of different brands of DVDs. Help.....

    Way too much going on here other than burning. Try not to multitask while you burn.

    With that blank media, you're burning too close to the edge of the disc.

    Try better media, like Taiyo Yuden, Verbatim, or Sony and set your target output size between 4300 and 4400 MB.

    Burn a 6x or 8x max...or half the rated speed of the disc.

    You also have Roxio running on your PC, it has a tendancy to mess with other burning programs especially Nero. My suggestion is to remove it with RoxioZap, but if the other solutions fix your problems and you do use Roxio then it would be fine to leave it for now.

    And to be perfectly honest with you, the drive hasn't seen support in four years and you will probably not get any decent results with modern media. It might be time to look at an external drive that you can hook up via USB.
