Okay, I have a Toshiba Qosmio G25 laptop. The DVD Burner it came with (Matshita DVD-RAM UJ-845S) has been burning bad DVD's recently. The movie would get all the way to the end and then would start to skip in the last 15-20 minutes. I have tried this with many different DVD players and they all do the same thing. I have burned the same DVD on another drive and it works just fine, so I know it's not the media I am using. Anyway, I decided to look up firmware for this drive to see if that will fix the problem. I found some firmware and did the upgrade. The problem now is that my drive is supposed to write up to 8X for both DVD-R and DVD+R. I am now being told that my drive only supports up to 2X writing for both formats. Is there any way to fix this? Can I go back to the old firmware? Thanks!!!
