I have got AVI DVD Burner 2007 an have had Nero an quite a few others.. i go to burn a DVD-R disc an a .vob file onto it.. it gets like a quarter of the way through an it stops.. its says "Burn DVD Failed" comes up with no error or reason why. I have this log from the AVI burner program, hope it might help..
