I have a NEC DVD+RW ND-6100A and while using both Nero and Alcohol 120% it wont read/burn to a DVD-R (it ejects the disc). Is this because my burner is a DVD+RW? Is there any way to make my burner burn onto DVD-R discs? Any information is greatly appreciated... thanks
Check out this link! http://support.ap.dell.com/docs/storage/p71024/en/intro.htm As far as i can see it does not burn DVD-R/RW only +R/RW. However the good thing abont NEC drives is that there is always someone hacking firmware so check out this forum and look scroll down to message 15 http://forum.rpc1.org/viewtopic.php?p=132411 This also contains a link to a firmware upgrade to burn -R/RW media. But remember if you flash your drive incorrectly you can mess it up forever so be careful. Saying that i have flashed my NEC drive about 5 or 6 times and never had a problem.
