I am kind of a newbie here, but i just purchased a dvd burner and am having trouble straight copies of dvds. 1.most dvds are well over the 4.7gb of blank media. And it spits it out saying blank media is too small. 2. Tried making an image file of the dvd (.iso) that worked fine but after burning there was about 5 seconds of the title screen all jumbled, then no video, just audio maybe this is software setting error 3. the software provided are mediostream instantdisc and neodvd. I also have ripping utilities and deencryption progs but don't want to use because of quality issues 4. Blank dvd media is VEEEEERRRRYY expensive so i want to waste little. If someone can help let me know Thanks
Read this: http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/407 basically if your DVD tools allow you to author a new DVD out of VOB files, you're good to go. Just extract only the movie from your DVDs using SmartRipper and burn this into DVD-R -- you can lvie without the extras.
dnath: Nah, DVD-RAM doesn't work on regular DVD-ROM drives. Read more about various formats from here: http://www.vcdhelp.com/dvd.htm
