hi, i believe that my dvd burner isnt working properly and was wondering if there is anyway of checking to be for sure. i use dvdshrink to backup dvd's and about half way through the movie, it starts to skip(unable to watch)and does it for the rest of the movie. when i burn the dvd from a .iso file previously made i do not run any other programs. i also burn at very low speeds usually 2, but sometimes 4. here is the brand and model: mirco advantage, 4DVDRW-B13 maybe that will help, its a year or two old thankyou for any help buzzz
What brand of media are u using? Junk media = junk burns. Is the firmware for your burner up to date? Google it to see if there are any upgrades. Burners do wear out. If it's 2 yrs old it just might be an age issue but u first need to determine the media and the firmware first.
hi, thanks for the help. the media i am using is good and i have tried multiple brands with the same results (taiyo yuden is one). i have never thought of checking firmware for my burner, dont even know what that is, but ill see what i can find thankyou buzz
Firmware is simply an upgrade to the burner's internal software. Just be careful when you upgrade. Check out the manufacturer's website or just google it and follow the instructions to the letter or you'll fry the drive.
