I have been researching the different kinds of dvd burners when I happened onto a dvd dubber...what is the difference. The one I saw was made by LiteON. The dvd burner (external) I was thinking of buying looks promising but the dubber really looks simple. I too am a newbie at this stuff and the simpler the better. Thanks for any help!
Hi sscooper LiteOn's are great drives. The 'dubbing' on the one you saw is LiteOn software that lets you burn. Good but not necessarily needed. There are free and paid software out there that will do the same thing and more. Plus if you're backing up copy protected discs or converting files to dvd compliant one you'll need other software to do it. Still it's a good drive even w/o the dubbing software.
Thanks so much for your input...there are so many burners to choose from and even though the reviews look pretty good it's nice to have someones input. Thanks
Not a problem sscooper LiteOn is one of my personal favs. Another good dvd burner is Pioneer. I'd look at those two.
Hi Binkie7, Just one more question. The DVD burner that I am looking at has litescribe. Is there a blank DVD that is dual layer and litescribe able. By the way, luv the "binking" puppy.
Hi sscooper Not really sure on Lightscribe dual layer - I don't think it's avaiable in that format yet. I've only seen Lightscribe for cd's and dvd-r & +r. Txs on the dog - my kid created it.
