dvd burner wont read anything

    I got a Sony DVD RW DRU-810A, and it won't read anything cd-roms, dvds, blank cds, nothing works with it. Can anyone help me out with this?

    Does the drive show up under the My Computer icon? If it does not, I have found the problem to usually be that I forgot to switch the jumper from master to CS (cable select) on the back of the drive for the particular test computer I use. This is the first thing I would check.

    I unplugged both my dvd burners, tried different configs and found oune that works, dont know why some ways dont work but everything is back to normal.
