Okay, so I have spent many hours trying to figure this out and this sight seems to be helping me the most. I have backed up my DVD using DVDBackup and then I compressed the files using DVDRemaster. Worked great. Now I'm up to the burning part and I am using Toast 6. However, every time I try to burn the files (both Video_TS and Audio_TS) using the DVD-ROM format in the Data section, i get a window that pops up about 3/4 of the way through the burn that says that there is an error. When I look to see what has been burned on the disc, the files are there. But I can't play the disc on any DVD player. What am i doing wrong? Thanks to anyone who can help P.S. I am burning onto DVD-Rs and am using my PowerbookG4 with the Superdrive
Open DVDPlayer, click on "File" and select "Open VIDEO_TS folder" then choose the one you got from DVDRemaster. Now press play on the DVDPlayer controler. Does the movie play? What error are you getting? What brand of DVDs are you using?
I am using TDK DVD-R and the only error I had when playing the files was a delayed menu, but I checked the actual video and it was perfect.
There should not be any error. Do the same process with the VIDEO_TS folder you got from DVDBackup to check whether there was a problem ripping the movie or compressing it. Also what error did you get when trying to burn it?
I think I got it... I'm burning something now and the error hasn't popped up yet. After combining a few things that you wrote in about on other threads, I think i've got it. I'll let you know. Thank you for your help
Everything's been working out great. NOTE TO EVERYONE: Listen to Londor... everything that is recommended by him/her is absolutely right.
