Hi all. I'm a newbie. I've read this forum for hours trying to find answers to my questions. I'm hoping somebody will be able to help me out.
I'm trying to burn a commercial DVD. I have DVD Studio Pro and I want to use it for this process. I know DVDSP will compress the DVD to fit, but I can't seem to even get to that point.
So as far as I understand, the first thing I need to do is rip the dvd.
Did that using osex. I've made it into a DVD image, into a .vob, element streams,...into every option. Now what do I do? DVD Studio Pro won't let me open any of the files. Not the .vob files, not the VIDEO_TS files, none of it.
My thought process was that I would need to rip the dvd, open the ripped files in DVD Studio Pro, and then burn. But I can't figure out how to open anything in DVD Studio Pro.
Probably a very stupid question...I apologize.
Any advice you could offer would be sincerely appreciated.
    Thanks!

Dvd Studio Pro is for "authoring" dvd's. The disc you've ripped is already "authored." All you've done by "ripping" it is decrypt the copy protection and save it to your hard drive.

Also, OSEX is very old. Download Mac The Ripper 2.6 and use that for ripping. There is a thread in this mac forum with a link to download the program (and it's free).

To burn you use toast or a CD/DVD burning software program.

I use both Toast 6 and DVD studio pro 3 to "burn" dvds from a video ts folder. Dvdsp is about .5 to 1 minute faster for an 8x burn that takes 5-6 minutes. However, Toast is easier to use.
In DVD sp to burn use the FORMAT command.
