    Hello,
I use DVD X Copy to read then I tried to burn using NERO 6. I was able to add all the files ifo,vob,Etc.. It burned the dvd fine NO problems at all. I can watch the dvd in the pc using either Nero or Power dvd. I tried to watch it in 3 different stand alone players. One SONY< One Sony Play Station and one little tv with it built in. None will play the movie?? I'm still a little confused because I just started using Nero. Am I doing something wrong? I followed the instructions. I have Vision and all the dvd making add ons with nero. A little help would be Wonderfull.

    Thank you
    Craig.

What DVD media did you use? Some older players are not compatable with +Rs. Burn speed and quality of media are critical to producing good burns.

You've got compatibility issues. Playstations don't like burnt dvds, as for you sony standalone, probably the same, same with the other player you have. Do they play in any of your friends dvd players?

    What media are you using?

Yes I have many backed up movies and they play in all the different players I have. This is the 1st movie I tried using Nero for the burn. I use X Copy Xpress, I've been getting coasters writing with X copy so I thought I'd read with xpress and burn with Nero. I'm using Memorex and I tried Fuji. Both same thing Will play in Computer but no dvd players. I use the same media for all my movies. I thought maybe nero wasn't burning the right file types for dvd players. I didn't change any settings around I have no idea.

I have the same problem with Shallow Grave. Ripped with DVD Decrypter. Burned with Nero. Plays on the pc, won't play on my JVC or Sony stand-alone dvd players. Ritek 8x DVD -r. Every other disc from that spindle is fine.

I even ripped the copy with DDecrytper and DVD Shrink and burned with Ashampoo. Same thing.I have old LG burner so no issues with booktyping and it is DVD -R....

Craig, memorex media sucks, big time. 99.99999% of people hate them. Ritek, verbatim, TY, the list goes on for decent media!

So you think it may be the media? I've done many back ups with the same media and NO problems. Maybe the media isn't a good one but why just this time? It's never been a problem in the past is it that Nero doesn't match up well with this media because the players read them fine 99.9% of the time. I mean I've made some coasters but not many. This isn't even a coaster the whole movie is there just won't play. I did another copy right now of the same movie using X Copy for the whole thing Read & Burn. Works fine in all 3 players. I know, why not just use X copy then. I have been having issues with it writting 1/2 movies and saying it's complete. It worked this time. All my firmware is up to date. So still not sure on the problem.

that's the point - use crap media like Memorex and you will have inconsistent results. i use decent media and i have zero problems :)

My x-copy (which I use ALL the time) works really well. There are only a couple of films that it could not do.

Memorex is REAlLY bad for consistency!

Memorex is only consistent at one thing - being inconsistent

Thanx for the advice, I will start using better media. It's just such a good deal for 50 dvds. LOL I guess you get what you pay for and what the hell good is the price when you throw so many away.

Caig & Unolord - I had the same problem as you; bought my shiny new NEC 3450 DL Recorder and Nero Reloaded, ripped a BBC DVD (for backup purposes!) and it too would only play in my PC and not in my stand-alone Panasonic player. However, I ripped the BBC disc using DVD Decrypter in FILE mode and stored all the DVD files (VOBs etc) on my hard drive and then used Nero Recode to burn the actual disc. Success! The copy plays on my PC AND my Panasonic and all in glorious DL (+R) format! BTW, my discs are Datawrite Printables.

    Success!

I normally use Decrypter to rip in file mode but this time I ripped to ISO instead of file and burned the image. Plays fine in both stand-alone players.
