Hi- I made a dvd of a vcr tape. It was my first venture. When I watched the new dvd on my computer it was out of focus, the colors weren't clear, it was bad. Is there any way I can download it to my computer and clean it up (ie. software)? I'd really like to keep this dvd, but it needs work. Thanks, mj013
Can you get your VCR tape to computer? That would be best to start with. In case of finished DVD, you can load it back to TMPGEnc Xpress and fix some of it (colour, sharpness, etc.). Only think is it will export DVD compliant file so you will need authoring software to produce new DVD.
^^^My guess is using a DVD Recorder. A capture card will probably give better reults. I did a movie from VHS to DVD and it turned out better than the DVD I purchased later on (couldn't pass up $3 for the DVD when it went on sale). If you have a VCR with Monitor Out and Line out, you will get better results, but only VCRs from the 80s have those features.
but all vcr's have a line out... most in stereo and if you get a capture card like this one you can monitor it on your PC. I have personally had great experiences with this type of capture.
Ok, Cool didn't know they still had that! The only ones I have with line out & monitor out are my old Sony VCRs so I figured that they took those out from newer ones. But even if they didn't have them, the regular RCA out would do the trick.
I was referring to the rca outs (video and audio). Were you talking about the old screw on type? No.. I don't think they have those. edit: just checked my 4 year old Panasonic. It does have the thread type line in and out. Not too sure about the brand new models.
Oh, no, I was referring to outputs actually called "Monitor Out". I could just be imagining the difference in quality, or maybe just cause the expensive VCR has monitor out and the cheaper ones have regular RCA Line out.... Here's a pic:
