Hi peoples, Can anyone inform if its possible to use a video DVD combo unit to record a home made video on tape to a dvd? Does this combo permit this or is it just for viewing a dvd and or a video tape without "corresponding" information between the unit? Im also wondering if a dedicated DVD RECORDER unit would allow for recording a video tape via a analogue jvc video camcorder to dvd via either the S-VIDEO socket or the RCA option? This is my other possible means of getting that analogue source to the digital DVD medium. Please advise as I look forward to this knowledge base of information. Thanks Steve
As Long as you aren"t trying to record Copy protected Material then you should be able to Record from VHS/Camcorder to a DVD Recorder without problems.....
Hi Peoples, Finally decided to get a dvd recorder and its a "beaut mate"! This is exactly what I've been after! Its the most simplest method in recording vhs -c tapes, Tv programs to dvd without a hitch and it does it in REAL time and makes it fast without PC memory drain or complications. VHS tapes are a breeze to do and connecting a analogue camcorder converts the signal to digital without HOURS of encoding! This thing gives various speeds that can be selected which makes for very long playing DVD"s. These units are great having RCA sockets, s-Video in DV in ie which allows for most devices. After recording its a simple process to open the DVD on your PC for viewing , editing and special editing effects. This is the easiest and fastest way to get analogue sources or digital into your hard drive. If you want to capture your favorite memories from tape to DVD go for a DVD recorder its awesome!
