Hi all I have checked through the forum's and I can't seem to find the information I require. I have two DRIVES both are CD,DVD combo one is just a drive that will run either CD or DVD. The other is a ATAPI CD,DVD combo burner max. speed is 8X. It has been working fine but just starting last week everytime I put either a new DVD or CD blank in it. It wont recognize it and comes up either unable to read disc or no disc inserted can any please offer me some advise.The drive is about 12 months old Please advise if you require any other information
Try uninstalling the drive. My Computer>properties>hardware>device manager. Select DVD/CD-Rom Drives, right click and uninstall the problem drive. Reboot. If that doesn't work, select IDE Controllers and uninstall either or both of the Primary and Secondary channels, reboot.
