I have been using dvd decrypter without any errors for about the past year. I would like to know why I am getting this error and how to correct it. The error message is as follows: I/O Error! Device: [1:0:0] Mad Dog MD-16XDVD9 2.FA (D (ATA) ScsiStatus: 0x02 Interpretation: Check Condition CDB: 2A 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 20 00 Interpretation: Write (10)- Sectors 0-31 Sense Area: 70 00 05 00 00 00 00 0A00 00 00 00 30 05 00 00 00 00 Interpretation: Cannot Write Medium - Incompatible Format
Hi elohssa DVD Decrypter is telling it doesn't like the media your using. Your's drives firmware is up to date. What brand are you using?
I was afraid that it did not like the media. The media that it is having troble with is HP DVD+R double layer. thanks for the reply!
No problem! I don't know who makes the HP dual layer - not all that many manufacturers are making it yet. You can check the manufacturer in Decrypter in iso read or write mode. On the right the manufacturer will be listed. For dual layer go with Verbatim.
I think this is the information on the right that you are referring to: MAD DOG MD-16XDVD9 2.FA (ATA) Current Profile: DVD+R DL Disc Information: Status: Empty Erasable: No Free Sectors: 4,173,824 Free Space: 8,547,991,552 bytes Free Time: 927:32:74 (MM:SS:FF) DVD+R DL Boundary Information: L0 Data Zone Capacity: 2,086,912 Changeable: Yes Physical Format Information (ADIP): Disc ID: CMC MAG-D01-00 Book Type: DVD+R DL Part Version: 1 Disc Size: 120mm Maximum Read Rate: Not Specified Number of Layers: 2 Track Path: Opposite Track Path (OTP) Linear Density: 0.293 um/bit Track Density: 0.74 um/track First Physical Sector of Data Area: 196,608 Last Physical Sector of Data Area: 16,580,607 Last Physical Sector in Layer 0: 2,283,519
Yep that's the info! Your's were made by CMC - a newer manufacturer to the dual layer market. Their single layer aren't good either. I would stick with the Verbatim DL. They were the ones who began manufacturing DL so they have been able to 'prefect' it. Dual Layer can be some costly coasters so I would only use the best - Verbatim. They're the only ones I use when I do dual layer.
I am having the same problem. I just opened a new thread before I found this one. I am using single layer dvd-r. I have gone through 4 or 5 blank dvds trying to burn. I didn't have this problem the first couple times I used it. Any known solution? I don't know the brand of dvds I am using. I lost the label from the package.
http://www.imgburn.com/ Imageburn is the 'burning' part of DVDdecrypter, except that it is updated and now burns DL disks. @dough06, if you put a disk in the burner and start imgburn it will show you the disk manufacturer. I use imgburn with DVD Shrink (I just renamed the the DVDdecrypter folder to 'RealDVDdecrypter' and named the 'Imageburn' folder 'DVDdecrypter') DVD Shrink then uses Imageburn instead of Decrypter.
hi guys i was reading some and i dont know what happen with the decrypter in games , didnt try a movie yet but a try 2 games and the same happen , I/O error ! device :[0:0:0] hp dvd writer 640b e152 (e) (ata) scsiStatus:0x02 interpretation: check condition CDB:2a 00 00 00 A0 C0 00 00 20 00 interpretation : write (10) -sectors :41152-41183 sense area :70 00 04 00 00 00 00 0E 00 00 00 00 09 03 00 00 00 00 interpretation : spindle servo failure and the dvd decrypter log says invalid address for write so guys what u think ? imm getting loco! lol when i come back im gone to try with a movie , an see whats happen ! ok guys seeya i hope somebody help me , thanks byebye
@Dsouth Check and see if there is a firmware update for your drive at HP's site. You'll need to get the correct model # from device manager. Here's a link with instructions: http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/genericDocument?lc=en&cc=us&docname=c00375008 Now what brand of discs are you using and what is the rated speed? Ex. Verbatim +R 8x What burn speed do you have decrypter set to?
binkie hi i use sony the speed says 1x - 16x , the speed for decrypter i use sometimes to burn betwen 1 and 4 x depends what kind of game , before do that i read the forum and see what says about the speed . so now im looking for the update i tell u later ! thanks !
Hi Dsouth Ok you've using good media and a good burn speed for games (I don't back up games - just from what I've read here) See if there is an update on the firmware and we'll go from there. Has anything changed pc wise since your were last able to burn?
hi guys ,binkie ! ok i update the firmware and says i got the last one . about something change in the pc i dont think so ! for what i know, just the windows updates , ahh something else is not about dvd burning but maybe is something , i can't see my pictures i says some error could not be opened with the nero pictures , i remember i think maybe I update the nero but im not sure, i got too much in my head to worry about, so some things i forgot , sorrys , . i make another ripped for the game , like u says and i try the same nothing happen , i dont know guys what can be but im maddd !! lol and thanks again for ur help everyone , thanks !!! sorry my english too !! bye guys
Your english is fine Yes - burning problems would get me mad too!! To rule out the media - try some Verbatim or made in Japan Sony or Fuji. Look for 8x. Another thing to try is cleaning the lens of the drive w/ a dvd cleaner. You can pick ones of these up at a local computer shop. May not help but you can also try to burn w/ imgburn - developed by the author of DVD Decrypter. http://imgburn.com
@Dsouth I would post the complete log in the Nero Forum for another go around.Don't like that 'spindle servo failure' part.Sounds like hardware failing?
@dsouth You did indicate in your post A simulation burn with Nero will generate a more comprehensive log than 'Decrypter'. If the problem shows up with Nero and Decrypter then chances are 'Decrypter' is not to blame.
attar ,im sorry but i dont understand what u try to say?lol i dont know if u read all the threat but im having problem with the decrypter in burning games , i dont know much about nero its new , i dont use nero to games , can i use it ? i dont know sorry about the question but im triyng to learn ! @dsouth You did indicate in your post Quote: -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- i remember i think maybe I update the Nero but im not sure -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- A simulation burn with Nero will generate a more comprehensive log than 'Decrypter'. @Dsouth What kinda games are you trying to burn - like PS2, Xbox etc? Have you tried to burn a movie yet? If so how did that go?
