DVD Decrypter file modes need explaining

Yesterday I tried to use DVD Decrypter for the first time. I used it to write a DVD-9 disk to my hard disk. I set the mode to ISO: Read as I had seen in a guide, but instead of finding a .DVD file as I had expected I found two 4+ GB files labled .100 and .101 plus a small .MD5 file.
My goal is to write the DVD-9 disk to two DVDs so as not to lose quality or quantity.
I searched the forum for previous similar questions and could only find one from dansisler dated 6 Nov. 2003. Yuedana and #afonic made comments that seemed contradictory from my naive point-of-view.
Is there a comprehensive, up-to-date guide for DVD Decrypter or can someone simply spell out what the various "mode" options are for?
    Thank you very much!

Check my guides (simpleguides.tk) below for a clear and simple way to copy your DVD9 to DVD5 (+/-) using DVD Decrypter.
