Observed a problem using a Sylvania DVR90VE VCR/DVD-R recorder along with DVD Decrypter. I record, for example, 3 one hour History Channel segments on a DVD-RW and they play back on a standard DVD player with no problems. However, because I want to edit out the commercials I often use one of two editing programs. The first is from NeoDVD called "Medio Composer Razor" and/or "Video ReDo Plus". What I've found is that when I bring in a file using DVD Decrypter, the whole file comes in, but when I go into either editing program, the file has been truncated in the editing program to 2 to 3 minutes which is unsat. What I found to straighten out the file and to get the full 60 minutes, I bring in the VOB file into Video Redo Plus and without doing any cutting, etc., I go to "File|Save As| and the program responds with a dialog box saying that no cuts have been made, but do I want to re-mux the entire input file. I respond with Yes, it asks for a filename, etc. and then it takes off on the re-muxing. It does the first couple of minutes, and then appears to go off into never-never land with some high numbers being displayed. Finally, it finishes up and tells you the corrections it's made and then going back into Video Redo Plus or the Medio Composer Razor program, you have the full length (1 hour) segment. Now you can work with the full file. Don't know whether it's the initial recording that's screwed up, whether its the DVD Decrypter that's doing a number on the VOB file, but using the re-mux feature in Video ReDo Plus fixes the problem, so one can't argue with success. Hope this helps out someone who's having similar problems.

I find it best to Rip the DVD as a Single Big VOB Files as Opposed to a Bunch of Small ones because then the VOB Files are in Small Pieces the Time Code is not Consistant which makes editing more Difficult cuz some Programs won"t be able to read it Properly because of the Time Code Problem....

To Rip as a Single Big VOB file with DVD Decryptor you have to go into the settings and set "File Splittings" to "None" and you should have the "Patch M2V TimeCode" enabled ....I actually Prefer to Rip useing "Smartripper" because it has Good Stream Processing settings so you can Rip your DVD as a Big M2V Video File and a Dolby AC3 audio file or as Just One Big VOB file but with only the One Video Track and audio track.....

Also for editing VOB Files there is a Better tool than "VideoReDo" which is "Womble Mpeg Video Wizard 2005" it can Much easier handle the Timecode Problems and also has a Tool For Fixing Audio and Video PTS and TimeCode errors and also has a Multiplexor and demultiplexor.....

So if you Rip as One Big VOB file and edit with Womble you shouldn"t have the problem you were haveing...

    Cheers
