help if poss. started using dvd decrypter and read this sites guide lines on how to use. however although i find it ace to use on some dvd's, on others it wont work due to the size limit. is there a way of getting around this so that it will fit.
    cheers

Give DVD Shrink 3.14 a try. It will rip and compress in one pass.

You can get Shrink in the Downloads section here and here's a link to an outstanding guide for Shrink to get you started:

most dvd's are dvd-9 or dual layer. dvd decrypter will work by itself with the dvd's that are dvd-5 or single layer.

What everybody does is compress the dvd-9 to fit on dvd-/+r which are single layer or essentially dvd-5.

compressing programs are dvd shrink, dvd2one, clonedvd, and xcopy express. all cost $ except for shrink which is free!!!!
As a bonus shrink will rip dvd's also.

What you need to do is understand that dvd's hold many files(vob, bup, ifo) inside a VIDEO_TS folder which is what gets burned.

You need a burning program such as nero, clonedvd, recordnow, burnatonce, etc to burn to a dvd. if you tried shrink and did not have a burning program also, of course it will not work.

if you want super simple(i.e. one click) then just pay the money for xcopy express. (I don't really recommend it as I have it and don't use it anymore)

you don't need to understand the files. use the settings in the links:

    1. make sure all the files are in a separate folder. I put everything in the VIDEO_TS folder. (Nero will do it but I like to do it myself)

    2. open nero and follow the instruction on the websites.

it may take some tweaking of the setting and trial an error as everybodies computer seems to be a little bit different and what works on one will not work on another.
