I have a Lite-On 1693S I burn fine but I recently I've been trying to play CDs w/ it. It's worked in the past but for some reason it's just started skipping. It won't play any of my CDs. The CDs will play fine in my CD player and the CD/DVD ROM drive in the same comp. Should I even be playing music in my burner? Will that shorten my burner's life?
It wont shorten your burners life... Thats what its made for : ) But have you got any software running in the background to do with CD/DVD writing? Maybe a Re-Writing software like In-CD? It could be checking your burner every now and again to see if you are putting in a Re-writable or somthing? Thats why it might be skipping the music?.... Does it read normal data CD's?
No, my prob isn't skipping w/ CDs that I've burned. All CDs that I play skip. Even store bought CDs. I don't have INCD. The only burning software I've got is Nero, and i only use it to burn DVDs.
Yes I know, It does not matter if they are burned or original... I was pointing out that if their was some software (anything) running in the background that could be kicking in now and again as that could cause the skipping : ) But if you say you havnt, then how about trying the drive in another system if you can?...
