I have an iMac G5 and want to get an additional burner. I've done a lot of research but wondering if I"m missing something? Seems to me that LaCie's is the only brand with a bunch of options for Mac users. I've heard that Pioneer/Benq/NEC/Sony are great, but I can't find any compatibile with my non-Windows machine.

Am I missing something? Do these brands have options for me? What burners are best for Macs?

    Thanks!

    the 1st one, with a 20' display

    iMac G5 PowerPC 1.8 GHz
    had an additonal 512 added

Right, an USB/firewire external, but it seems that most of the externals out there are for Windows OS, not for Macs. Just wondering which brands are best for Macs?

look at the specs on the boxes & you'll see macs are on there too. todays macs use a lot of pc hardware & vice versa, it is the software that you run into the problems.
