Hi, is there a way to replace the laser on a DVD burner??? I am not even sure if its worth the trying (assuming its possible). I've own this drive for few years and recently burned about DVD's and now the fifth DVD came out bad in a roll. It can read fine, and it burns as well, and I get the message "DVD session was sucessful" but it won't play on anything. Is it dead? Thanks,
Try cleaning your laser with a cotton bud and some rubbing alcohol. Also, there is no way to replace the laser; only buy a new drive.
