DVD Drive question

    Does the type of DVD Drive affect the burning to hd process?

    I've copied two games (with a thompson) and they both freeze when I hit start at the beginning (call of duty and halo 2).

    Is something with the drive or with the software (I use the latest version of DVD2Xbox).
