dvd drive wont read cds

    I have a Lite-on LDW 851S,It will read and burn
    dvd but wont read cds.It was working ten min. earlier
    playing a music cd.I have uninstalled,changed IDE
    cable nothing seems to work any help greatly appreciated.

    try cleaning lens might work

    if using xp uninstall drive, reboot, let xp find & install drive & try a different cd(manufactured not burned) if work try burnt cd

    I have already tried that.I am going to remove and
    install in one of my other pc's and see if it works.

    OK I installed in another pc and
    same thing will read dvd but not
    cd,Will contact Lite-on for fix
    or RMA.
