DVD driver and decoder

    I cannot play DVD on my laptop. I think i need a driver and a decoder. Can i get this for free? I am using Win XP. Please help

    Also I little trick, get powerdvd on, then you can watch it through media player......as it utilises the driver of powerdvd......

    how do i watch the dvd thru media player using powerdvd? moreover does the limit of 30 min video apply if i use media player?

    You just use media player to watch and play your DVD. I don't think the limit does apply kardi03.

    i downloaded powerdvd and tried several dvds but it keeps giving me window saying insert disk in e drive. Please help me

    Good question Koola, answer. do not know as I have the full version of powerdvd.....

    Worth looking into I think....

    My dad showed me it....

    Nothing but media player installed....inserted dvd - no go..
    Then installed powerdvd.
    Inserted dvd, opened up media player...Bingo....

    dll/codecs etc must utilise the same ones.....

    kardi03...it sounds like it has defaulted to a different drive. Go into the configuration page (click on spanner OR ctrl c) and set the correct drive up...

    Also uncheck the play upon insertion (bloody annoying)...
