Ol Hectar here agin, Whattcha know, I git MAin Concept to do my convert, dvd shrink to do the resizin and can't git the varmits ta burn. Non compliance test. Now last night my Resident evil only played on dvd for some 10 minutes or so but i reckon that was to do wid havin dvdidle pro on trial. Since removed I ain't been able to burn chit... got all ma bobs and bups etc in a VIDEO_TS folder sweet as ya like. CLone dvd dont a wanna know and neither does Nero (and dats wid following Afonic's excellent guide too. I dun compressed the files somewhat but surely it cant be dat? Also Ive a read lots of other posts on non-compliance but I aint any wiser. Gonna need some input here my fellow man... Chaio
Im trin ta think back ta when I had da same prolem an I tink it was when I was a usin decrypter and shrink at da same time... I would try just usin shrink ta re-author an den make dang sure my VIDEO_TS had any old files deleted outa dere. I tink shrink will do dat for ya but I don't know bout decrypter. I'm havin better luck usin Nero 6 Burnin ROM dan anyting else, usin de guides here
Let me Get this straight so I understand what you are doing...So you are useing MainConcept encoder to encode your Files to Mpeg??Then you are somehow useing DVD shrink to Compress the Files???Are you really doing this??? Can you explain this a Bit more??
Minion thanx for da message - I'm sorted out on that there front. Cheers! Ok, I dun put the avi cdr into the drive and then copy to empty D: drive (30gb) or thedabouts. I use the main concept ta change the files to mpeg and then run TMPGenc (in the case of say MEMENTO it take a whole 7 hours) then copy with the clone dvd. Dunno wghat i did wrong yesterdag but there were plum zilch ol ifo files in the doggone saved VIDEO_TS folder. I also took off that dvdidle as it only let me play ten mins of Resident evil despite the disk being fully loaded wid about 3gb video. Cause of the trial... Hey aintit fun bein a noobie? Shucks I'm a learnin all the time. Main concept for the avi to mpeg for shure. Now if I a could only find a fast mpeg ta dvd ting I'd be as happy as an ol hog wid a bakun buttie. Mighty obliged folks, Ol Hectar...I'll crack dis dvd chit..yo see if a dunt
Why does it take 7 hours to author the DVD with Tmpgenc, The encodeing to Mpeg should only take a couple hours at most with MainConcept then authoring the Mpeg file to DVD should only take a few minutes at most...Setting up the Menu"s and chapters should only take a Couple of Minutes then the authoring shoudn"t take very Long...With me going from AVI file to the Finnished DVD takes about 3 hours at most of which most of that time is for encodeing to Mpeg....Cheers
