DVD firmware

I just found on xbins firmware for my xbox Philips drive. I just wanted to know what are the benefits of updating my firmware and how can I go about doing the update. The file I downloaded was philips.bin.

 

where did you find it? can you give me steps, like directory wise

 

I can't remember the exact directory it was in as it was a couple weeks ago that I got it. Just try looking around xbins and I'm sure you'll find it.

 

The benifits are just like the 360 you can play backedup games on live

 

well if thats the only benifit of it then f**k it I won't even bother updating. I don't play live at all so I have no use for it. Thanks
