I have read through the tutorials and tried several things, but apparently I need someone to spell it out for me....lol thanks people!
It's not that slow. Is it one or all files you are converting that have the problem? Try turning off the anti-virus program (if it's running). Check the hard drive(s) to verify that DMA is on (not PIO). My Computer>Properties>Hardware>Device Manager. Expand IDE Controllers, Right Click on the Primary Channel > Advanced Properties and look at the current transfer mode. Should be some flavour of DMA. only other thing might be if the HD is fragmented. Download the trial version of ConvertXtoDVD and compare. http://www.afterdawn.com/software/video_software/dvd_tools/vso_divxtodvd.cfm
