Hi I have been burning dvds for a while now and just recently have begun to experience problems with my burned media. I am currently burning with DVD X Copy Platinum and have used DVD Fab Express, DVD Decrypter, and DVD Shrink in the past all of which I have used to burn successful DVDs. However, recently I have begun experiencing problems with my burned media on my laptop, a Compaq Presario R3000 with a high speed DVD+ ReWritable drive. The same discs will play fine in an XBox console or my home DVD player however in my dorm room I only have my laptop to play them on right now. I am using Verbatim DVD-R discs and as I said many of my burns are successful it is just recently that I have begun to have problems. The DVD will play fine but about 10-15 minutes into playing the DVD will freeze the program playing it in all players (Windows Media Player, Real Player, and InterVideo WinDVD). Anyone know how to fix this or why this is happening??

Yes it has successfully played dvds and it is only with some i think i may have fixed the problem - i think i had codecs downloaded that were interfering with each other so i removed all the codecs from my laptop and downloaded a codec package with the detector to determine what codec goes with what movie in a package with a dvd played - this seems to be working it has fixed the problem with three movies i tested it with. i think i am burning a 4x or 8x my burner is 8x max or the disks are but someone told me in set up to burn a 4x if i had the time so i do.
