i was just wondering when downloading movies from limewire which format file is the best ie: mpg,AVI,wmv.?

i have another problem when i downloaded the longest yard ( avi file)
i click on it to watch it and the windows media player comes up and a box opens up saying "Windows Media Player cannot play the file. The Player might not support the file type or might not support the codec that was used to compress the file." i have the DivX and XviD codec and the latest edition of windows media player its media player 10 PLEASE SOMEONE HELP ME OUT

I've never D/L a movie before (on dialup), so I really don't know. But, doesn't WMV stand for Windows Media Video? I may be wrong about that. Just always thought it did. If it does, I'd guess that would be the way to go.........
Maybe someone else knows which is better.
    Good luck!
