I have a Pioneer AO4 and I'm trying to play a DVD but it won't play, however it plays on my regular DVD player. Anyone know how to fix this problem? Is it a codec problem?

We need some more specifics I'm afraid....

    Is it an original?

What region are you in, and what region is the disc?

What program are you using to try and play the movie?

What is happening when you say it will not play - error messges/cant read disc etc etc?

Sounds as if it is the region code. Either you are trying to play in a unsupported DVD region or the DVD is encoded in the wrong region for your Pioneer drive.

Also, does yor computer play all other discs fine?
I have a copy of Pulp Fiction that plays perfectly on all standalones I have tried, but hasn't worked in any DVD-ROM drive I've tried. Could be a similar case....
