Hi, I was wondering if anyone could help me as I have been having a few problems with trying to burn DVD's to a DVD-R. I use DVD Shrink 2.3 for the compression, and Clone DVD for the burning, but when I watch it on my DVD player, it keeps going all glitchy and freezing. I think its something to do with Clone DVD, because the movie works perfectly on my Hard-drive. I have TMPGEnc DVD Author if this helps. Can anyone recommend anything? Better software etc.... Thank You Lisa
Hi Lisa_JB, Do all your movies come out with the same problem? What kind of blank media are you using? Use only high quality stuff like Memorex, Ritek, Verbatam, etc. The good stuff costs a bit more but is worth it. Make sure your source discs are clean with no major scratches. Heres a tool for checking your source disc and burned disc for read errors: http://www.dvdinfopro.com/ You may also have a compatability issue with your DVD player, whats the brand and model? Shrink and Clone shouldn't have a problem with burning your discs, I would recommend you get the new version of Shrink though. Frank
Thanks for the reply. I have used Verbatim disks before and had the same problem. Ive used the no-named ones a couple of times and on an odd rare occasion, they work ok. My DVD Burner is a Liteon 4x DVD Dual Drive ATAPI/E-IDE. (Though Im a little unsure of what all that means). On the box it says it was manufactured in September 2003. My DVD player is a Phillips DVD 634. Ive updated DVD Shrink to version 3.1. Ive just discovered that it has a burning utility on that too, so I will try it and see if theres any difference. Thanks for the tool link. Lisa
Hi again, Heres DVDRhelp's compatibility list for your player: http://www.dvdrhelp.com/dvdplayers....+634&Submit=Search&Search=Search&orderby=Name You are going to need Nero to use the Shrink burning feature. Normally when I use CloneDVD, I will decrypt the movie with DVD Decrypter in "file mode". I don't need to compress the movie as Clone will do that, as well as a bit of re-authoring to remove parts I don't want. I really like Shrink though and use it with Nero 6 for almost all my back-up work. I find Shrink's audio preview very useful in picking the correct audio track. You can find a guide for Shrink here: http://dvdshrink.info/guides.php or here: http://www.chrismccann.co.uk/user_guides.htm Cheers, Frank _X_X_X_X_X_[small]motorcycle racer computer newbie Sony VAIO Suzuki GSXR1000[/small]
