I've been working on a DVD for days, and when I try to burn it. I get the following error:

"GOP size is over 2,800,000 bytes. It is over the buffer size limit"

How can I fix this? What does it mean?
    Thanks a lot in advance.

I think this has something to do with the encoder you used. Maybe some setting was wrong, or you encoded to a non-compliant format. Try selecting your video files in the asset manager and then going to tools=>mpeg parse. This should display GOP (Groups of Pictures) info.

Did you set your GOP structure manually or something? This has something to do with bitrate and what type of frames you are using in your Mpeg. I know there are three different types; I, P, & B. I also know that you cannot use all I frames unless if you do HD or something with about 25mbs bitrate cause those are too big. Maybe you did something like that???

Also there is a chance you are doing a NTSC movie and using PAL clips or something. I can't help you much here as this is advanced stuff, but I am sure someone will come along that knows what it's about.

    Thanks.

I don't know if I set it manually, nor do I know if I used I Frames - all of these terms are fairly new to me...

You suggested doing "HD". What is HD?

That would be High Definition. It would be incompatible with every DVD player. I meant that using only I frames, would only be good if you are doing a High Definition movie where you can use high bitrates of about 30MB/s.

You can use only I frames for lower bitrate, but you would get crap quality video. There should be some default settings in your encoder. Use 1I 14P for higher bitrate and Standard for lower Bitate. There are also closed and open GOP structures. All I know about this is that open can refer to the next GOP for information.

What encoder are you using to encode your movie? Maybe we could tweak some settings and this would do the trick.

I am not too familiar with this stuff either. I barely know the basics...

Thanks alot. The DVD is composed of so many video files, and I think I encoded them all the same way...

Is there a way to post a log of some sort and perhaps someone would know the precise error?

I would not know how to find your log if there is one, but if you post your encoding program, then maybe someone else will know.
