This may be a little off topic and just want everyone to know what a great help this site has been for backing up my vast DVD collection. I usually go soup to nuts with a backup...from printing the label on the DVD to printing an insert and placing them in a cd case. Is anyone else noticing that most of the new releases are sans DVD graphics with most having a grey/silver cover? I like my backups having a little "pizazz" and get them from an online site. Any thoughts on why the new trend?

as geburuh said its a money thing. the dvd makers are trying to cut cost and makeing the dvd with a "generic" face to it is the easiest way for them to do it...
if you can print onto your DVDs like i can/do. you must have a scanner also... when you scan the dvd case cover just use that and postition it onto the DVD and print it.... ot goto a custom cover site, where people make custom covers and DL what they have made. i do that also

I agree with the label comment...I should have been clearer and said I print directly onto hub printable discs. Went the label route at first and learned my lesson the hard way...about 40% of them were unreadable by my players after about 6 months.

At least you learned. Many people (that i know) still insist on using paper labels against my advice.

    *sigh*

They'll figure it out like so many others...the hard way.

    Bro 7thsinger,

    1) At least they learned
    2) The best lessons are usually expensive
    3) They knew from the beginning more than us because they did'nt need to heed our advice
    4) They wont't forget from now on
