    Hi Guys,
I am new to this forum and seems like there are lots of experts here sharing wonderful information. Hope someone can help me with DVD maestro question. I have DVD maestro 2.95 version. In order to use the preview I had to install the cinemaster dvd decoder. But thats not compatible to Windows XP. I tried 3 times and ended up reformating my PC 3 times. DVD maestro is the ultimate program for authoring DVDs but Not a sigle DVD decoders available (To my knowledge) to use the preview . Has anyone tried any other software decoder? Any success? Please share with me. Since Apple taken over the SPRUCE Dvd Maestro , No more updates or compatible decoder. I am sure one of you genius would have a solution.

    Thanks
    Mike

Cinemaster loaded fine on my AMD XP box, but on 2nd box (Intel) it refuses to run reliably, Maestro reports "no decoder available". Also, on 2nd box, when loading Cinemaster, it wiped my boot.ini file in root of C: so machine wouldn't boot up (missing operating system message) and I had to recover that (very annoying!).

Plunked around with it for couple of hours and cannot get it to work right - don't know what the difference is between the two systems. Funny too that Maestro loads the decoder fine on occasion, but normally the "no decoder available" message appears.

2nd box has dual CPUs - could that impact this problem?

My CPU is 2.8GHZ HT with intel pentium processor. 1 Gb Ram. I installed cinemaster 2000 three times and ended up reformated three times. I cant get it right.I am sure there must be a codec available to make the preview work without corrupting the xp dll files. I guess ineed to wait until someone gives me an idea to make it work. Hope it is soon.

I think I got the bugs worked out on a dual cpu box, it's a cpu affinity thing.

Regarding your issue, I think I can help there also. See thread
    http://forum.doom9.org/showthread.php?t=92677&highlight=maestro+realtime+preview

Basically, copy JUST Cinmhook.dll, Cinmst32.dll & Dvdpld32.dll to the maestro install folder C:\Program Files\Spruce Technologies\DVDMaestro; you DO NOT NEED to install Cinemaster fully!
