i use vlc player....never have to worry about codecs it plays everything...including dvds, http://www.videolan.org/
Everytime I download VLC and try to open it. It says that a certain .DLL file was missing and the program will now terminate.
If they do have it there, what do I do with it after I download it ? I went there before and downloaded a file for another player, and it still said it was missing after I downloaded it.
I downloaded unicows.dll and unzipped it. Tried opening the player again. Said 'error while loading unicows.dll'. program will now terminate.
Culchie> the file goes wherever the error message said it didn't find it. if no path was mentioned in the error, then it goes in the same folder as the .exe file. you may need to register a .dll file, in order for it to work properly. this site can walk you thru it: http://consumer.installshield.com/kb.asp?id=Q108199 unicows.dll is Windows' Unicode dll library, and is only needed on Win 95/98 & ME (NTFS file system OSes like XP have it built in). if you are trying to use unicows.dll on XP, it probably won't work, and/or you have the wrong version of the program. if you have an EARLIER version of Windoze, try using this download: http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/...D7-ED06-4F0D-80A4-2A7EEAEE17E2&displaylang=en
