i`ve sucessfully put 4 menu titles on to a dvd with the appropreate video files so you can navigate to the one you`d like to watch, now i did this with nero & the result was very good, so whats the problem i hear you ask ???? the problem been is that it took 9 hours to burn !!!!!! i went through the same process to add 6 menus to another dvd but this was going to take 19 hours to burn !!!!!! far to long for me besides i dont think the pc would hold up for that long lol is there a faster proramme available ?????
You can try encoding your source video files first. You can use a slow encoder like TMPGEnc, or something fast like WinAVI. Also, dvd2avi (free) can encode both slow and fast. If you use FreeEnc, it will be rather fast and good enough quality. After you are finished with encoding, you can import your files into Nero. Just use the VOB files (for TMPGEnc you may have to mux results with something like IFOEdit). Just encoding menus should not take too long in Nero. And you may be right about your PC acting up after going for 19 hours straight. Depending on how you take care of it, it should be fine, but if it is fragmented or loaded with other programs, you may have problems until you let it rest for a while after it is finished. What you could do, it try to do it over night and have the computer shut down when it is finished. Then Begin working with the DVD after 24 hours of starting (basically a 5 hour rest). It will also free up your resources if you let it shut down.
