I downloaded the 30 day trial of.....DVD MovieFactory 4 Disc Creator Edition.....It seems pretty easy for newbie’s I just am having a hard time with cutting clips and then adding them together. I am trying to take a DVD with like 30 min of recording on it and cut out only like 10 min of what I want then host on my web page. Have any of you guys used this software and is the best for newbie’s. It cost $99 to buy at the end of the 30 days.
I have not used version 4, but I bought version 3, and while it would capture DV from my camcorder and save it on the HDD, it would freeze then crash every single time you started it processing the files in preparation for burning the disk. I would be slow to purchase this package unless the demo actually works and you see it working.
Ya…. It has been crashing on me also and seems very hard to cut and tie in the pieces that I want. I really need to buy a good editing software soon. Is nero6, Pinnacle Studio 9 or Roxie..... good for editing dvd's. I just want to take clips from 1 dvd and then piece them together on a new dvd so I can host it on the web.
I find Nero Vision Express 2 (a newer version is now available) which comes as part of the Nero 6 bundle to be very easy to use for assembling DVD videos and for making the menu etc. Certainly much easier and more capable than DVD Factory. I have had a problem with the module for capturing video from a digital camcorder, but a small freeware program (WinDVi) serves that purpose for me now. If all you are doing it assembling and reburning clips from other DVDs etc I would say nero is a good choice in terms of stability and ease of use.
