I ripped video clips from a DVD using VideoReDo software. Created MPEG files where ~5 minutes of video = ~140MB file. I want to compress the file to 15-30MB so I can put the file online at streamload.com to share with others. What software would you suggest to accomplish this? I thought maybe Ashampoo software would do the trick but for reasons not clear to me, the MPEG files were not recognized by the Ashampoo software. The files play fine using Windowz Media player and Rael Player....just can't compress them to a reasonable size. HELP? Thanks.
Well if you want to get these Files small enough (5 Min = 25mb) you won"t be able to do it in Mpeg format and still retain some resolution and Quality so you Might Consider Maybe converting the Files to WMV Format which is One of the Better quality Streaming Formats..... "Windows Media Encoder 9" is a Good Freeware WMV Encoder and you can get it at the Windows web site... If you still want to Try encodeing to Mpeg-1 format then one of the Best Mpeg-1 encoders is "Tmpgenc" which is Free for Mpeg-1 encodeing... Cheers
