dvd play button doesn't work with some backups

    I am a newbie, but have had pretty good success doing backups using both dvd x copy and shrink. With some backups(created with both x copy and shrink), I successfully burn the dvd, but when I put it in my dvd player, when the menu comes up that have the 'play' option, the play button on my remote and on the player have no effect, so I can't start the movie, I can only see the menu screens. Any ideas? My burner is an external 4x dvd+R usb2 burner, and I'm using Ritek 4X dvd+r media.

    Try using the Scene Selection option in the menu. Select the 1st scene offered to see if your DVD will play at all.

    I use Shrink and Re-author. I removes the menus which is just fine with me. Any extras I want to keep are inserted after the Main Movie before I backup to my HDD.
