I have the following DVD burner factory installed on my laptop, hl-dt-st dvd+rw gca 4040N. I "backed up" 2 different DVDs using dvdxcopy platinum on sony dvd+r discs (one compressed, one not) the software appeared to work properly and even said burn complete when finished. When I tried to play it back on my DVD player or on my laptop it would not play and wouldn't even recognize that anything was on the disc. Any ideas what the problem is?????
One compressed, one not??? To fit on a dvd+r it has to be compressed. What version are you using? Have you tried to search this on A/D?
one compressed because it was a longer movie, when I recorded the other I don't think it gave me an option to compress (only 92 mins long)
oic. Well when I had that problem. XCopy rip, burn, finalize... say successful burn and would end up with coaster. I did 2 things upgraded to platinum v4.0.3.8 and also updated my aspi layer. And actually the other problem I had was it would only burn RW's and not +/-R's, so the aspi update solved that. You could also update your firmware of your burner.
