    Hi,

    Using a DVD DL Burner.
disk plays movie fine when it is reading from the DL burner.
but when its put in the sony dvd player.
its gets a error - "disk is dirty"
strange bc the disk is 45 minutes out of package and no fingers touched surface.
found out that some dvd players do not read DL disks.
but that does not make sense b/c all production disks are DL.
    any ideas???

Is is the disk media brand?
    or
    the burner?
    or
    the firmware?
    or
    the DVD player? sony 575
    or
    the way it was burnt?
    dvd shrink and dvd decrypter..

    thanks

    Could be all 5.
Try using just decrypter only (iso mode) pick the mds file to burn.
Dual layers (original dvds) are dvd-rom which is the most universal compatiblity. The media you using is +R. This is also somewhat newer media so not all dvd's players may recognize it. Try 2x to burn.
Update your firmware and try again with the above mention.
Dual layer is still too expensive imo opinion to make coasters and play around with.

What brand of DL's do you use? I, like many others at AD, use Verbatims and all my Standalones play them perfectly. Two are Sony's and One is Denon 2200 (Denon players can be very picky). I use Taiyo Yudens for single layers, but I strictly use verbs for DL. I have burned DLs with Decrypter, Shrink, Copy 3 from Intervideo, CloneDvd2, 1-click, Dvd cloner 2, dvd2one...and teh list goes on and becuase I use Verbs I never have a problem and the menus work perfectly as well.
