I would like to watch the same dvd in 2 rooms at the same time. How do I hook up my player to do this?

There are many ways. With the limited data you have provided though I can think of one. It's called an A/V transmitter/receiver package you can find at Radio Shack and other places. It basically transmits the A/V to another room via radio waves at a frequency of 2.4GHz. To get the A/V from one DVD player to two televisions would require an additional receiver unit. Although I'm sure the DVD player will be physically close to one of the televisions, it's out put would have to go into the transmitter those requiring the additional receiver. If your player has two sets of outputs then of course you'd hook one set to the transmitter and the other to the television it is located next to. Of course then you wouldn't need an additiona receiver unit.
