Alright, so I actually have two computers on which I am burning copies of DVDs. I usually have DVD43 running in the background, run Shrink, and synch with Nero to burn the discs. One computer uses Nero version 6, the other Nero version 8. I've never had this happen to me before so I'm a little baffled... I'm trying to copy a few DVDs(workout discs), and I am ripping them fine to the hard drive, and they are writing fine to the DVDs - no errors whatsoever - but when I put them in my DVD player, the DVD player just sits there and either never recognizes that it's a DVD, or never brings up the 00:00 time even if it does. I've tried writing at max speed and slow speed, 2 times for each... but again, the DVD player just sits there confused. I know it isn't a problem with the writeable discs(Dynex DVD-R 16x max write speed) because I have other DVDs copied onto those that play fine. Any ideas??? -- -- Edit: I think I traced it back to these recommended Nero updates: Package 1: http://www.dvdplusvideo.com/Nero-6.6.0.18_no_yt.exe Package 2: http://www.dvdplusvideo.com/NVE-3.1.0.21_no_yt.exe Why would an update make it so my DVD player can't read it? Can I go back and remove these updates, or is there a setting I need to go back and change to make it work again? (I still don't understand why the Nero 8.0 on the other computer isn't working... then again, that computer runs Vista and sucks.)
Update: Checked here and didn't see my specific pioneer burner listed, but all of them seemed compatible with DVD-Rs, so it shouldn't be a disc problem (plus I burned a DVD fine right off the bat from the same bundle I'm pulling from now, before the updates)... Am running DVD43 in the background when I use shrink, so I wouldn't think it'd an encoding problem? The discs are running fine on the PC, but the DVD player won't recognize them. It isn't a problem with the discs; I've other other discs from the same bundle work fine. I even tried re-copying a DVD I had already copied successfully before, and now the DVD player isn't biting on it. The only changes I've made have been to run RoxioZAP since I was told a driver might interfere, and to update my NERO. I went into my nerohistory file and pulled the last logfile.
