Recently I bougtht a second hand laptop which came with the "MY SONIC" DVD software. At the time I assumed this is all I needed to play DVD's. Later I learnt that I needed different codec so I tried to download a free trial of InterVideoWinDVD7.

The codec matches according to the Media player utility but the thing still wont play (In the media player it says that I need to first open through the other program as of some copwright protection problem)
In Intervideo says CREATE OVERLAY FAILED. It suggests changing resolution, color etc but that doesn't work either. My other friend is also having a similar problem. Can anyone help??

When you download Intervideo, you need to use the intervideo player that comes with the package to play the DVD not windows media player.

what version of windows are you running on your laptop?
