I am having a problem with playback. I am burning AVI's or Xvids that are widescreen format. I burn them with sonic mydvd and all looks good in the preview. When I put them on the home dvd player it stretches them to full screen. I then took the dvd and put it in my dvd player on the computer and it plays with widescreen. Is this a problem with the way I am burning it or is it just my home dvd player? I really need some help.

Sounds like you need to adjust your aspect ratio setting on your tv. This can be found in the tv menu, probably picture settings.

I don't think it's the tv because I have some widescreen movies from the store that play fine. I am having problems with dvd's I create myself.

Did you just start doing this? As far as playing them on the tele, or have you been doing it, they always worked and now all of a sudden they don't work properly?

I have been doing this for a while but I don't know if the ones before were widescreen. I downloaded 2 files that have been ripped with xvid. When I open them on the computer and they start playing there are the 2 boxes at the top and bottom of the screen. When I play the dvd I created on my computer the 2 boxes are there. The problem is when I play them on the the home dvd player the boxes are gone and the movie is stretched to full screen. Even when I was burned the files I could do a preview in sonic and they looked fine. I can't figure it out for the life of me. I have googled the problem and saw that a few other people were having the same problem but no one hasn't replied to the messages.
