dvd plays in colour on dvd rom but not on my stand alone dvd player(gl)

    ok I got a back up copy of lord of the rings from my friend I backed it up for myself. it plays great on my dvd rom but play's in black and white on my dvd player. why does it do this. is there anything I can do to stop this? is there any software?

    Could be the dvd-r media used, could be the fact that it is ntsc and your player is PAL or vice versa!
