DVD+R or 120min that 2 hours right so why cant i burn a movie that is only a hour and 40 min long the movie s avi file i need help i am new to this is there something i am not doing
Hi, The 120 minute rating is rather misleading. A more accurate measurement is to go by the rating in GB of which a blank DVD can safely hold 4.3. How big is the AVI that you're wishing to burn?
so can you compress the file so it can fit i new it this so if any one has i good way of put avi files on dvd+r i like to know.
You're wanting to view this movie on a standard DVD player, yes? If that's the case, you'll need to transcode your AVI with something like TMPGEnc then to VOB, IFO, BUP files with TMPEnc DVD Author.
i got tmpgenc does it all ways take about 20 hours to do what it does after i use tmpgenc I have a IfoEdit will that work if so then can i put it to dvd+r so i can watch it on my dvd player with out make two disk
Depending on the source file size and your system specs it can most definitely take up to 20 hours. Transcoding is extremely CPU and RAM intensive so the faster the CPU and the more RAM you have the better. At nearly 700MB your file is a biggie so that will account for quite a bit of time
It's hard for me to say exactly what size the resulting files will be but if it's over 4.4GB you can use DVD Shrink to compress the files to fit a blank DVD _X_X_X_X_X_[small] "And there we saw the giants ...
